Whole Wheat Wonton Wrappers Recipe

One thing we really enjoy eating in my family is Wonton soup. What really makes the soup is the wonton wrappers. Unfortunately, we are in Maple One thing we really enjoy eating in my family is Wonton soup. What really makes the soup is the wonton wrappers. Wonton soup without good wrappers is like chicken noodle soup without egg noodles. Unfortunately, we are in Maple  Ridge BC right now and are unable to find any wonton wrappers. Fortunately, I have a wonton wrapper recipe up my sleeves. The reason I'm making whole wheat wrappers is for one it's healthier than white flour, and for two the baby in my belly won't let me eat bleached grains. If you're at a place in your life where you have no wonton wrappers, or you can only have whole grains give this a try and let me know what you think.

Ingredients

2 Cups All-purpose Wheat Flour
2 Tablespoons olive oil
1 Teaspoon salt
1 Cup water

Items needed that you might not have in your kitchen
Pizza cutter
Rolling pin

Note: if you want to add a little flavor to you wrappers also add in 1/2 tsp Pepper and1/2 tsp garlic powder. It will make them extra savory!

In a mixing bowl add 2 cups of flour and 1 Teaspoon of salt and mix together.

Then add 1/2 cup water and oil into the bowl and mix adding small amounts of water until you no larger have power in the bowl but crumbles instead. Start to work the dough with your hands slowing adding water until you get a large ball of dough.  Knead the dough until it is soft and stretchy with no clumps.

Pull apart the dough into three smaller balls this will make it easier to roll out into paper then sections.

Lightly flour your work surface before rolling out the dough. Start to roll your dough making sure to roll out all sides evenly until dough is paper thin. Add more flour to work surface as needed to prevent dough from sticking to it. Once you have rolled them as thin as you can take your pizza cutter and cut them into squares.  The beauty of making your own wonton wrappers is you can make whole wheat ones, and you can cut them into whatever size and shape you want.
